10 Things You Didn't Know About Me

Hey,
Well, last night I couldn't sleep and an idea for a blog came into my head so I got up at 1 AM and wrote down 10 things most people didn't know about me.

1) I cry at so many movies. I cried during What's Eating Gilbert Grape, The Truman Show, The Terminal, The Boy In the Striped Pyjamas, Atonement, Stepmom (I practically bawled my eyes out), The Elephant Man, and Little Miss Sunshine . And those are just off the top of my head!! I'm a lot more sensitive than people think. I actually cried during a commercial once (but it was a really sad one!!!). I even cried during College Road Trip, then I realised "What the hell am i doing??" and turned on something normal.

2) My grandpa used to be a leader of a communist party in Ukraine. So weird. I only found out like a year ago. My dad just said it oh-so-casually like it's an everyday thing. I just kept thinking "GRANDPA??? THE SAME ONE WHO GIVES CANDY EVERY TIME YOU SEE HIM?? THE SAME ONE WHO FALLS ASLEEP AFTER WATCHING TV FOR A MINUTE?? THE SAME GRANDPA WHO SOMETIMES DANCES LIKE A RETARDED BLIND BIRD? HIM?? ARE YOU SURE??"

3) I look exactly like my great grandma Rose. I am so fascinated by her. I never met her and she died long before I was born. My family barely has any pictures of her (when my family was immigrating from Ukraine, an entire suitcase full of our photographs got lost) and barely any information on her. Photobucket This is the best photo we have of her where she's young. Not the best but hopefully you get the gist.

4) When I lived in Israel, I lived in a solar powered self-sufficient home. Not really something to know but to me it's cool because I was eco-friendly while I was still in diapers, betches!

5) I'm a hugeeeeee nerd. (see above). But for my real fact; My first best friend was named Yulia and her mom was named Evgenia. And she was my best friend since I was 6 until I was 11. My best friend now is ALSO called Yulia (Julia, duh)and her mom is also named Evgenia. Weird circle, eh? But then again, both are Russian and as we know, Russians aren't too creative when it comes to names (Sasha, Masha, Slava, Anya, Katya, Nastya, Alyona, Svetlana etc. etc.).

6) My absolute favourite song (well actually, it's a piece :D) is "I will wait for you" from the french musical Les Parapluies De Cherbourg. I never saw the musical but the song was always played in my house and I really love it. I can't even begin to explain it.

7) I'm naturally blonde.
Photobucket (I don't have a better picture <.< )

8) When my brother was first born, he was really sick and the hospital where he was living in was really bad and unequipped with medical tools. Basically, they had no idea what they were doing and it was just a waiting area before people died. They were basically making my brother even more sick. My grandpa saved my brother's life because he kidnapped my brother from the hospital in the middle of the night and drove him to a proper hospital in Moscow. My brother then healed.

9) Queen + Paul Rodgers was my first concert ever and it has absolutely changed my life (but if you know me, you already know how).

10) My family dates back to Ukraine for many many centuries. My mother's side of the family were all Ukranian blue collar workers (mostly farmers). My dad's side also goes back centuries to Ukraine as more prestigious workers though (doctors, engineers, scientists) but since my last name ends in "sky" which is mostly originating in Poland, my dad thinks we might have immigrated hundreds of years ago from Poland to Ukraine. Yeah, not really interesting but I think it's pretty crazy to think of my ancestors living in Ukraine hundreds of years ago.

Long time, no type.

Hey-oh,
Sorry it has been so long without an update! Life has just been moving quickly (not). I just couldn't be arsed, to be frank. I just finished my volunteering placement at a local hospital! I'm really proud of myself to have done 40 hours of community service! I've learned a lot (but not the things you thought I would've learned). 1) Do not lie about being allergic to chicken pox shots. 2) Indian ladies named Maria complain. A lot. 3) Photocopy machines do not like to be kicked, even if you ARE listening to a jamming song and the moment called for a back kick. Other than those things, I also learned to stop complaining (see #2 as influence) and to be more patient. It's not easy spending four hours standing and filing files (at 8 AM on a Monday, no less) into drawers that are already completely full. It definitely helps to be patient. Anyways, it was my birthday recently and we had a huge party at a Russian restaurant and it was a lot of fun and I'm really glad I shared a big event with all my friends and family! I definitely had a lot of fun and I hope everyone else did too.
Well I'll upload more later.
Love,
allie

BzzAgent

Alright, so I'm looking through my e-mail like I usually do, and I stumble upon an e-mail that i got from my Flare mag subscription. It's talking about some site called BzzAgent. I decide to look into it and, so far I think it's pretty cool. What it is, is a site where you sign up and they send you free samples (sometimes they don't.. depends on the sample, sometimes it's online). You try those samples and then write about it on the site. You write your honest opinion and if you lied the product or not. Products range from cosmetics to food to websites &c. &c. The more products you review, the higher your status becomes, the better samples you recieve.. well maybe not better, but there are some perks to having high statuses.

The only thing is, when you make your account, you have to complete a survey which is SO LONG. I think it's, maybe, 200 questions? Maybe more.

Anyways, I just signed up and i haven't written any reviews (only about a website but even that's not posted yet) but here's a link to my account:

:D Hope i get to review something soon

P.S.

I had to cut this post short because my mom is luring me downstairs with candy >: D
But just on a side note, I was at my cousin in law's (if there is such a thing) parents house and my cousin in law's brother in law (follow me here) is super hot. SUPER HOT.. and only 26, but married and has a son... Who has the same name as this guy that likes me.

It is a big complicated, and you might have to read it over a few times. Good luck!
